2012 GOLDEN WEEK FAMILY TRIP -overall review-

For the first time since 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami, my family and I went on a trip. After going through a tough year, we felt blessed that all of us are safe and healthy, and we could have quality time together again. Unfortunately, my youngest sister couldn’t join us because of her school stuff, though.

Throughout the holiday, the weather was quite nice. Sunny and warm or hot like in summer. We travled around Tohoku region in northern Japan and sakura season just arrived there, which allowed us to enjoy beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom :)

Autumn Marathon

One Sunday in November,  I went to a marathon race, in which my senior colleague’s husband ran a 5km, with her and another person.

For lunch, my boss took me to this kushikatsu restaurant, ぎんざ磯むら. Kushikatsu is a Japanese-style deep-fried food, vegetables, meat or seafoods on bamboo sticks, which is originated in Osaka, Western Japan.

The restaurant seems old but clean and cozy with the traditional Japanese interiors and great lighting. The service was very good, too. Every food was served hot and at the right time. I liked it when I could watch how they prepare and fry our food over the counter. It’s better to have seats at the bar here.

Will definitely go back next time :)
